This Is One Fish Tale That is True!*
How Fishing Came to SU...

From what we gathered from the old website, the SU Fishing Club was founded in October of 1999 by this man, Mike Torreyson. Torreyson recognized the need for organized fishing at Salisbury, and with his friends, went about becoming a club. Two years and many fishing trips and community service activities later, Torreyson and the other founders had graduated, leaving the fishing club in need of a revamp.

That revamp came about from a discussion Josh Lashley had with professor and Fishing Club advisor Dr. Ann Barse. She mentioned to Lashley that the Fishing Club was in need of a new president in order to stay a registered student organization. Lashley, a lifelong fisherman, jumped at the chance and quickly enlisted his buddies as members and officers. The next few months were spent getting more members, working on trips, and developing this website. A busy spring of fishing was culminated with a sea bass trip on Atlantic Ocean.

Lashley and the help of many other avid fishermen,  made SU Fishing Club one of the strongest clubs on campus. After many years of community service, fishing and camping  trips, Regents Cup Championships, and great memories, SU Fishing Club is now in the hands of the current Executive Board who try to keep the SUFC legacy alive.

*This story aside, the SU Fishing Club makes no claim as to the validity of any other fishing stories that may arise. In fact, the SU Fishing Club claims that all other stories will be either greatly exaggerated or pure fiction.
