April 24-27, Salisbury
University attended their first ever ACHA national
meeting held in Naples, Florida. There were important
discussions regarding future rules and regulations,
which required voting on behalf of the teams. Also
present were many vendors, including representatives
from comapnies such as CCM, Bauer, Itech, Mission,
Tackla, and other well known hockey brands, hungry for a
chance to offer Salisbury a deal on certain products.
While in Naples, the teams also made many contacts for
future games. The BRHC also held their first annual
meeting, approving the new bylawys, which calls for
every team to match during games from head to toe not
only on the ice, but off as well. Either a shirt and tie
are required for pre and post game wear, or the
alternative choice of matching warm ups is allowed. No
matter what, the new Colonial Division of the BRHC calls
for the utmost professionalism, as Salisbury is eager to
impress. The weekend went very well for the Gulls, as
they continue to plan the upcoming season. Stay tuned
for more information for next season including try-out
times.
