Induction Requirements
To become a member of the Rho
Eta Chapter of KDP, you must demonstrate worthy educational ideals,
express interest in continuing your education, show desirable
professional qualities, and show evidence of leadership attributes.
Eligibility requirements include:
Undergraduate Students
(elementary, secondary, K-12 art and music, physical education)
-
sophomore year standing with 50
credit hours completed,
-
grade point average of 3.0 or
higher out of 4.0,
-
at least 12 credit hours in the
education program completed, in progress or programmed to take.
Graduate Students:
-
admission to an education
graduate program of study (M.Ed. or M.A.T.)
-
completion of 6 or more credits
toward your graduate degree
-
cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
out of 4.0
-
at least 12 semester hours of
professional education courses programmed, in progress, or completed.
Faculty and Others
-
faculty status at SU (the number
of faculty initiated at any ceremony may not exceed the number of other
initiates)
-
requirements for Outstanding
Contributors to the Field of Education and for Honorary Membership are
available from chapter officers
Membership Fees
The fees required for
membership are:
-
New members: $48 (This
includes $31 for the national organization, $8 for initiation costs, and $9
for operating the local chapter.)
-
Continuing members: $37
(This includes $28 for national and $9 for local.)
-
All members receive two
publications from the national organization: Kappa Delta Pi Record
and The Educational Forum.

Honorary membership: $50
for the first year, then continuing membership fees apply.

retired memberships are also available. For more info, please contact a

Membership
Expectations
To be an
active member and remain on the membership roster, you are required to complete
activities with the society and in the community:

Attend
one meeting per month
-
Be an
active member or head at least one committee
-
Participate in at least one chapter activity per month and/or participate in
one activity outside the chapter each month
-
Keep a
record of your activities on the designated record sheet present at meetings
-
Earn 10 points each semester
according to our points system
-
Continue
the success for which this honor society has recognized you
