New Media Summer Internship, Washington, DC.  Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics
Primarily responsible for assisting in the development, production and maintenance of written, video and
photographic content for both the Mystics and Wizards online presences. Since this is a summer internship

The C-SPAN Internship Program seeks to utilize the talents and education of students who are interested in
communications and politics. During your internship you become familiar with the workings of a cable television

College and Careers for Youth with Disabilities, Washington, DC.  National Transition Conference
The National Transition Conference, College and Careers for Youth with Disabilities is holding an important
conference from May 30-June 1, 2012 at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park to provide a forum for the
development of an action agenda, bring together critical partners in the transition community to exchange
innovative ideas and approaches; demonstrate knowledge gained from policy implementation; share transition
practices and research findings; and promote and facilitate the development of networks and relationships.

The Patent Office sponsors an unpaid externship or student volunteer program. These opportunities are available in the areas of engineering, science, and law. These opportunities provide work experience related to a student’s academic program. Students will learn about our mission, as well as the responsibilities of various patent practices, including a practical working knowledge of the patent decision-making processes. Students get to experience what it is like to be a Patent Examiner and work in our environment, as well as interact with experts in several disciplines, explore opportunities and develop or enhance their personal and professional skills. Spring and fall programs are limited and are usually based on university recommendations per an existing agreement with the USPTO. Unpaid externships are available through this program, which allows students to gain valuable experience in their field of study.
