Smashed Author Talk
Student Activists for Gender Equality (SAGE) hosts Koren Zailckas,
author of Smashed: Story of A Drunken Girlhood, 7 p.m. Wednesday April
8, in Holloway Hall Auditorium. Smashed, a New York Times Bestseller, is
Zailckas' memoir of her adolescence and college years, which were marred
by her emotional, vs. chemical, dependence on alcohol. The event is
sponsored by SAGE, Office of Student Affairs, the Appropriations Board,
Residence Life Office, Student Health Services and Greek Life Office.
Copies of Smashed will be sold and signed by Zailckas in the lobby
immediately following the talk.
Subject: Program Success!
Good morning,

Just wanted to relay that last night's SMASHED program was a great success. I counted about 150 students and many took advantage of the class vouchers. Faculty definitely supported the program as a co-curricular activity.

The speaker really reinforced many of the messages we send around alcohol use, and had some great statistics and suggestions for students. Being in her late 20's I thought she related to them well.

Kudos to Jeff and the SAGE group. They did a wonderful job organizing and carrying out the event. Very well done.
