RESPONSIBILITIES OF SU SNA OFFICERS

 

 

The President Shall:

*Conduct meetings

*Attend all faculty meetings

*Attend  SGA Forum meetings whenever possible

*Fill out community activity forms and hand them in to appropriate personnel

*Check campus and departmental mailboxes

*Keep advisor(s) updated

*Maintain contact with MANS & NSNA

*Prepare agendas for meetings

*Attend conferences

*Complete necessary paperwork to sustain the group

*Attend MANS conference

*Become NSNA PIT Recruiter to increase NSNA membership

*Check campus and departmental mailboxes each week.

*Maintain and update official SNA website

 

 

 

The Vice President Shall:

*Take over for the president as needed

*Rewrite bylaws each year (if necessary)

*Organize and maintain bulletin boards (2 in Devilbiss Hall and 1 in Nursing Skills Lab)

*Plan and run study groups

*Start SNA scrapbook

*Make reservations (i.e. facilities on campus)

*Write a resolution to be presented at the Annual NSNA Convention

*Attend MANS conference

 

 

 

The Secretary Shall:

*Take minutes at all meetings

*E-mail minutes of meetings to faculty, pre-nursing, and nursing student within three (3) days of meeting

*Process requests for information about SNA, MANS, and/or NSNA

*Keep attendance at meetings

*Attend MANS conference

 

 

 

The Treasurer Shall:

*Handle all banking

*Assist activities coordinator with fundraising

*Submit budget to appropriations board as necessary

*Fill out necessary paperwork requesting travel money from appropriations resources

*Meet with appropriations representative when necessary

*Attend MANS conference

 

  

 

The Public Relations Chair Shall:

*Create and post flyers to advertise meetings

*Create, with assistance from the president and vice president, articles to publish in SU’s newspaper The Flyer and/or the Office of Student Activities and Organizations (OSAO) Chronicle regarding SNA

*Keep SNA informed of any Skills Lab information or changes

*Organize and initiate the mentor program with assistance  

*Increase awareness among the underclassmen of the SNA and increase participation with the pre-nursing students

*Attend MANS conference

   

 

The Activities Coordinator Shall:

*Initiate contacts for community activities

*Coordinate fundraisers with the treasurer

*Plan activities (with assistance)

*Attend MANS conference

 

 

 

The Breakthrough to Nursing (BTN) Shall:

*Develop programs to enhance minority student involvement in SNA

*Initiate contact with local high schools in hopes of the SNA participating in a "college fair"

*Along with the President, update officer responsibilities list yearly.

Along with Public Relations Chair, organize nurses' day/week activities.
