The Student Nurses Association (SNA) at Salisbury University (SU) is an official campus organization that consists of pre-nursing and nursing students.  The group was formed by the first nursing graduates of SU during 1970.  The goals of the     SNA are to promote professional development by providing events beneficial to the community and fellow SU students, allow students with a common interest an opportunity for gathering and communicating, and further those educational goals set forth by the Nursing Department.

          SU SNA is a constituent group of the Maryland Association of Nursing Students (MANS) and the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA).  MANS and NSNA are pre-professional organizations designed for nursing students across the state and nation.  MANS and NSNA offer many opportunities in both the professional and social aspects of nursing.

For questions or opportunities to participate in the Salisbury SNA, please contact president Brandon Shain (bs05773@students.salisbury.edu)

MANS Mission Statement:

The mission of the Maryland Association of Nursing Students (MANS) is to help students in Maryland nursing programs to bridge their way from the student role to the professional nursing role.  MANS will meet these needs by:

        1.  Providing an opportunity for students to develop  networking and leadership skills;

        2.  Opening a line of communication with the Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) for students; and

        3.  Providing information useful in developing a professional nursing career such as updates on legislative issues, community health issues, and education issues.

What is the NSNA?

The National Student Nurses Association mentors the professional development of future nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance.

What is Annual Convention:

Annual Convention is held every April and attracts about 2500 nursing students, guests, faculty, and nursing leaders from across the country. It features a keynote speaker, exhibit hall, focus sessions, awards ceremony, association activity seminars, and an auction, as well as many networking events.  Each year at Annual Convention schools are permitted to submit a Resolution to be voted upon by the House of Delegates.
