A Message From Coach Stephenson The SU swimming teams are fast
becoming one of the premier Division III programs on the East coast.
The Sea Gulls have experienced a great deal of success over the past few
years in both the pool and the classroom by steadily improving our standing in
the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship meet while maintaining a team
grade point average of over 3.0 per semester. The training program at SU incorporates a well-balanced routine of stroke technique, quality swimming,
weight training, dryland activities, team building, and goal setting under the
supervision and guidance of the coaching staff to help each athlete meet his or
her potential. When recruiting, the Sea Gull staff looks for enthusiastic athletes with a strong work ethic who can make an immediate impact by placing 16th or better in the CAC Championship meet. If you have not met this criterion you can still be an asset to the team by continuing to improve. Many of our Sea Gull swimmers have “walked-on” and through hard work and dedication become CAC contenders in their events. Great things are happening at SU both in and out of the water. If you want to be part of a close knit “family” of athletes who challenge each other both athletically and academically, Salisbury University is the right choice for you!
